Comprehensive Eye Exams

See Clearly. Stay Healthy.

A comprehensive eye exam at Inland Family Optometry goes far beyond reading an eye chart. Our doctors evaluate the full health of your eyes — detecting early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and more.

From toddlers to seniors, we tailor each exam to the patient's age, health history, and visual demands — the whole picture, not just how well you see.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have an eye exam?

Most adults should have a comprehensive exam every one to two years. Patients with diabetes, a family history of eye disease, or existing conditions should be seen annually or as recommended by your doctor.

How long does the exam take?

Plan for 30–60 minutes. If your eyes are dilated, allow a little extra time and consider bringing sunglasses for the ride home.

Do you see children and seniors?

Yes — we care for the entire family, tailoring each exam to the patient's age and needs.

What should I bring to a comprehensive eye exam?

Bring your current glasses and contact lenses, a list of medications, and details about your eye and family health history. These help your doctor understand changes in your vision and tailor the exam to you.

Will my eyes need to be dilated?

Dilation depends on your age, symptoms, health history, and what your doctor needs to examine. If dilation is recommended, your near vision and light sensitivity may be temporarily affected, so sunglasses and transportation planning can be helpful.
